Himeji Leather, the heart of Japan's leather industry since ancient times.

Himeji City in Hyogo Prefecture has long been known as a major leather production area in Japan. Its history is long, and it is said that since leather processing techniques were introduced by immigrants during the Asuka period, the Harima Himeji area, with its abundant water resources, became the center of leather manufacturing.

Even today, there are more than 200 tanneries (leather tanners), and while inheriting traditional techniques, they are also actively developing new types of leather. "American leather" is also produced by tanneries in Himeji City.

Featuring firmness and resilience, this leather comes in six colors.

Its sturdy quality makes scratches and wrinkles less noticeable, and it's easy to maintain. The strength of American leather lies in its ability to make a statement even in simple designs. While it's a slightly thick leather at around 2mm, the thickness can be adjusted by skiving to achieve your desired softness.

It features a shrink-embossed finish, resulting in a uniform grain pattern. Compared to the Italian shrink-embossed leather we carry, it has a more subdued, matte texture.
